The men's artistic team includes Keatings, Olympic medallist Louis Smith, Daniel Purvis, Kristian Thomas, Ruslan Panteyleymonov, Max Whitlock and reserve Sam Hunter.

They will be competing against teams from Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Spain, France, Italy and Puerto Rico to secure the coveted top-four finish, and if they miss out, it is likely Britain will be able to send only one male gymnast to London 2012 – likely to be Dan Purvis or Louis Smith, depending on results and interpretations of the qualification rules.

Tuesday is the key day for Britain's men and they begin competition in the evening session from 7pm. There are eight teams in total, of which the top four earn the right to send full teams to London 2012.

If they succeed in their objective Britain will be able to send their full quota of five male gymnasts to the London Games.
